Pedal Safari East Africa is a uniquecompany which leads annual cycling excursion during the month of August through Eastern Africa (more precisely, the countries of Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda). What is especially unique about the tour is that those who participate are not simply "tourists"; throughout the adventure, participants have the option of stopping along the way to take part in humanitarian projects such as helping to build classrooms for schools, and thereby taking part in cultural / social interaction with the native peoples of the region and building cultural bridges and friendships along the way.

Michael Mpyangu, Pedal Safari founder, director and primary organizer, is a native of Uganda and is currently living in Santa Cruz, California, where he is an active dancer and, of course, cyclist. Micheal was inspired to found Pedal Safari East Africa after participating in similar bicycle expeditions in Africa and the United States.
